Amanda Spivey, J.D.
Ms. Spivey is currently a senior trustee of Austin College, a member of the Advisory Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and a founding board member of the Healthy Americas Foundation. She previously served on the board of the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health and has been active in University of Texas alumni affairs. She is a native of Sherman, Texas, and lives with her husband, Bruce Spivey, MD, in San Francisco.
Ms. Spivey has held positions in the legislative, executive, and regulatory branches of the Federal government, including a six-year term as a member of the U. S. Postal Rate Commission and service as the Executive Assistant to the Secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
She earned a B.A. degree in liberal arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the National Law Center of George Washington University. She is a member of the D.C. and Texas Bar Associations.
